Thoughts // Thankful

For: My family. My soul sisters. My church family. Lessons learned. Life experiences. People who push me towards my potential. Failures. Successes. The tough times. The good times. Moments of perspective. MGC Youth. Education. Warmth. Food. Clean water.
But most of all, I am thankful for the grace of God, without which I would not have the blessings that I have.

Thoughts // Stand

Autumn is when my campus is transformed into a magical place of yellows, greens, and reds. I especially noticed it today. There was a fresh crispness to the air after the morning rain that left everything more saturated than it would be otherwise. I happened to have my camera on me and decided to take a photo of the field blanketed with yellow leaves that will surely be gone next week after everyone comes back from Thanksgiving.

As I stooped low to attain a better angle, my eye caught this:
Yes. A lonesome dandelion waiting to be wished upon, long after all of it’s kind have been blown away.

I felt very fortunate to stumble upon this sight.

I allowed it to teach me a lesson...
Even after everyone around me has been blown away by the wind. Even when the sun fades quicker and the night is cooler. Even when the leaves fall and blanket everything around me. Even when I am the only one left standing...

Stand, and keep standing.

It’s gonna be worth it.

Music // God of this City

I had the privilege of photographing an event, God of this City: United, at my church last week.
The typography on some of the images was an unplanned addition. I used the same font that I used in the event poster (below).
I had a ton of fun and learned a lot with both of these projects.

Inspire // Simply Hue

These images by Vicki at Simply Hue are absolutely lovely and make me want go out and take cute photographs. The hue is so subtle and cute. I especially love the beautiful hope image with Scrabble letters on the typewriter. So cute. And I totally agree... There is always a bright spot in a gray day!
