Thoughts // Time

A second. A minute. An hour. A day. A week. A month. A year. A decade... and so forth. Time blows my mind. The concept of it. It's execution and quick passing.

It can be spent but it cannot be saved. It can be given but it cannot be bought. It is the today, but it is also the yesterday and the tomorrow.

It feels like mere days passed since I was a little girl. That was a different world from the one I'm living in now for reasons too many to list. And now, here I am, twenty-one years later. A different world.
Another year and decade has passed. It's so amazing to reflect on the last month, the last year, the last decade, and marvel at all God has done. He is so good to us. I am thankful for another beautiful year of life, and looking forward to what twenty eleven will bring.

Thoughts // Christmas

It's ironic that the busiest time of the year for most Americans happens to be the season that we celebrate the Saviour's birth... Peace on earth. Emmanuel, God with us. These fundamental truths tend to be overlooked and forgotten as people race to finish their shopping and to-do lists. It is hard to simply be still in this busy world in this season. But that is when I truly experience Christmas. When I step away from my busy schedule, and step closer to the manger, figuratively speaking. When I ponder on what the birth of Jesus means to me. When I receive God's love, and allow God to love through me. When I delight in and seek to bring forth peace. When I surrender my hearts to the peace that transcends understanding. When I come and truly adore Him.

December Lights 2

There is something about Christmas lights that just never gets old. :)

I'll be Home for Christmas

The semester is over (yes!), and the one question that was asked and answered numerous times last week by fellow students is: "Are you going home for the holidays?" Umm... I am home.
It is such a sweet thing to be able to go to school in my hometown, close to my family. I remember being a senior in high school and looking at schools far from home, dreaming to study abroad in Australia, and then ending up going to college a short driving distance from the high school I graduated from. And I am so glad I did. After a long day at work/school, there is nothing better then coming to a warm home. Not too mention being close to my home church, friends, and family. Of course, there are times when we all just need to get away, even from home. But at the end of the day, this is true: there is no place like home. I'm thankful to be ever so near it so often. Especially during this season.

Thoughts // Time Flies

It is hard to believe that it is already December 13th. How did the year fly by so fast? The next few weeks will be filled with a flurry of lovely activities. Gatherings. A bestie's graduation. Christmas lights. Christmas services. 21st on the 22nd. Candlelit services. Caroling. Planning. Creating. Celebrating. Reflecting. New Year's Eve party. Atlanta, GA for Passion 2011. I am so excited to end this year and begin twenty eleven in awe of the One who makes life in the fullest possible.

Thoughts // Isaiah 26:3

They call this week (week before finals) "dead week" for a reason...

Neglected sleep. Too many projects. Procrastination. Caffeine. Wishing it was all over...

Oh, a day in the life of a college student. I took a break from my studies to capture these images (with an app on my phone, hence the low quality).

Third image from left, bottom row. I put this verse up in my room as a reminder not to worry, that it'll be over in no time, that God is in control.

"You, Lord, give
perfect peace
to those who keep their
purpose firm
and put their
trust in You."
[Isaiah 26:3]

I will hold on to that.

December Lights

We set out to decorating our Christmas tree late in the evening only to find that 3/4 of our lights were out (happens every year, haha). I played light engineer for a while...to no avail. I wasn't too excited about rummaging through the garage in the middle of the night to find the other lights, so instead, I grabbed my camera to get these shots with the lights that worked. Love the results. We shall do it again tomorrow. :)
