It was my sister's 15th birthday this weekend.
We were having breakfast when my nine year old sister
gave the birthday girl this envelope and card.
It brought tears to my eyes, seeing how
selflessly she gave. Yes, it's just 15 pennies,
not the greatest birthday gift,
but the heart behind this simple gift
deeply touched my heart.
It reminded me of the widow's offering,
which Jesus counted far more significant
than the lofty offerings of the rich.
Oh, to have that kind of heart.
To give selflessly, to give everything.
To love endlessly, without condition, without fail.
To believe simply... like a child.
Oh this is so precious! It brought tears to MY eyes! The beauty of simplicity in a child is priceless.
