JJ Heller // Deeper Heart Tour

One of my favorite artists, JJ Heller, finally came through town! Yay.
It was a joyful evening. Something about JJ's though provoking and downright honest lyrics
accompanied with indie/folk guitar tunes from her husband, Dave, is just so incredible lovely.
One of her songs was among the first that I ever played + sang on my guitar a few years back,
perhaps that's why I adore her work so much? A few snapshots from the night...
Audrey Assad was the other half of the Deeper Heart Tour. Audrey + JJ = beauty!
Random fact: The only love song I've ever sung solo (in front of many people, lol)
was one of Audrey's, last year at my brother's wedding. :)
I took my younger sisters along to the show. During the first song, Audrey was leading
while JJ was lightly humming along. My seven year old sister leaned over to me and
whispered excitedly (as if she discovered some great big secret)
"Yana, she's lip synching!" Haha.
JJ's music plays in our house constantly,
and my heart just about melted when I looked over to see
my little sisters singing along during the concert.

All in all, twas a lovely night out and about and all throughout.
Favorites from Audrey:
Ought To Be

A few favorites from JJ:
Painted Red (as seen in my sketchbook HERE)
Boat Song (sketch in process, but below is the cute video)
Enjoy! :)

  2. I used to work in Christian radio, but I've been a bit out of the loop since I changed jobs a couple of years ago. I've heard great things about JJ Heller and Audrey Assad, but had never heard them. Thanks for sharing!
